Israel remains a parliamentary democracy holding a contested Knesset election on 2026-10-27. No transition to Bible-as-law theocracy as of Oct 2026; deadline 2045.
This is a long-term civilizational claim. The US remains the dominant power as of Oct 2026, and there is no sign of an Israeli-led 'Pax Judaica' replacing it.
As of 2026-10-15 the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock stand intact; Temple Mount tensions continue (e.g. large Jewish ascents on Tisha B'Av 2026) but there is no move to demolish them or build a Third Temple. The deadline is 2045.
Early signs in his favour: Israel has expanded buffer zones in southern Lebanon (Mar 2026), Syria and Gaza, and aliyah was about 20,000 in 2025-26. There has been no formal annexation, and Israel is still bogged down in a multi-front war. Deadline 2045.
US-Israel strains surfaced in Jun-Jul 2026 (the leaked Trump call calling Netanyahu 'crazy', disputes over Lebanon and the Iran ceasefire). The alliance remains intact, though: the House passed the FY27 NDAA with the US-Israel defense integration section in Jul 2026. There is no 'divorce'.
Mass displacement continues inside Gaza and the West Bank (the UN reported more than 36,000 displaced in the West Bank, Mar 2026), and Egypt said in Aug 2026 that forced-transfer plans remain 'on the table'. No large-scale resettlement to Jordan or Egypt has happened.
