The condition has not been met. The 2026 US-Iran war was fought from the air and sea, and despite reported Pentagon planning and a buildup to 17,000+ troops, no ground invasion or draft has occurred.

A ceasefire on 24 June 2025 ended the bombing within days. Neither the US nor Israel struck Iran again until 28 Feb 2026, well after the 'next few months'.

Putin's supposed behind-the-scenes intent can't be verified. The US-Israeli war with Iran began in 2026, but nothing public shows a Russian role in luring the US into a ground invasion.
China stayed largely on the sidelines of the 2026 US-Iran war. It condemned the strikes, vetoed a UNSC Hormuz resolution, kept buying Iranian oil and allegedly let dual-use material through, but gave no direct military support.
